Army flags of James I during the conquest of Majorca in 1229 can be seen in the painting "The conquest of Majorca by James I," (La conquista de Mallorca por Jaime I) in the Royal Palace in Barcelona. They seem to be heraldic banners of arms.

How old is this painting? Depending on its age, the flags could well be the painter's own invention.
